Acceptable use

Do not host anything illegal in your jurisdiction or ours: no malware, no phishing pages, no attacks on other systems or networks, and no distribution of material you know to be unlawful.

Respect copyright: host stories you have the right to host. To report infringing content, email dmca [at] kiption [dot] com with the URL of the story and identification of the original work. We forward the notice to the archive owner and take the story down if the owner does not.

Each archive sets its own content policy: which ratings it offers, which warnings it requires on stories, and what it refuses. That policy governs the archive's fiction; enforcing it story by story is the archive owner's job, not ours.

Adult content: the line is the one a bookstore shelf draws. Romance novels and mature themes are welcome, provided the archive rates its stories and attaches warnings so readers can avoid what they do not want to read. Works whose purpose is explicit sexual content are not: this service is billed through Stripe and runs on infrastructure whose rules bar sexually explicit material, so archives of explicit erotica cannot be hosted here.

Do not send spam from anything hosted with us, and do not resell hosting capacity without a written agreement.

An archive that breaks this policy is asked to fix the problem, and suspended if it does not.
